Letter from the Mayor

Mayor Kay Pippin

Welcome to Jackson, Georgia!  Thank you for your interest in our city.  Please spend some time on our website getting to know us, and if you would like to have more information, we’ll be happy to supply it.
Jackson is a visitor and business friendly city of 5,000 caring, hard working, and dedicated residents.  Conveniently located off  Interstate 75 just 45 minutes South of Atlanta, Jackson enjoys a central location.  We are a transportation hub hosting the intersection of three major state highways, 45 minutes from the world’s busiest airport, 2 ½ hours from the Ports of Savannah, and on a major rail artery.  Whether traveling for pleasure, commuting or moving goods and services, Jackson offers the perfect location!
We have an abundant supply of fresh water, our city has no municipal ad valorem taxes and Jackson is consistently celebrated as one of Georgia’s 50 Safest Cities!  All of this, plus a clean and green environment for families and businesses.

We’ve built a close relationship with our public schools, we are home to a technical college center, and our community offers outstanding recreation.  Few places can offer you the enjoyment of a 135 mile shoreline lake, miles of walking trails, the beautiful amenities of the oldest state park in America, outstanding baseball fields and a Friday night high school football game ‘on the hill’ where everybody knows your name,  while providing access to the offerings of an international city only one hour away!

There is much more to tell you about Jackson.  We invite you to visit us and see for yourself.  Whether you’re looking for a place to visit, live or build a business,   you are welcome in Jackson!

Kay Pippin, Mayor
