The City of Jackson is redistricting and is authorized to reapportion the election districts from which members of the City Council are elected following the publication of the United States Decennial Census. The City of Jackson will amend the City Charter by ordinance to reapportion its districts in accordance with the following specifications:
- The City shall amend its Charter pursuant to O.C.G.A. §36-35-3 and O.C.G.A. §36-35-4.1 to reapportion its districts for elected members of the City Council of the City of Jackson, Georgia.
- The reapportionment shall reflect the district map created and drawn by the Legislative and Congressional Reapportionment Office of the Georgia General Assembly.
- This Ordinance shall be effective on the date of its approval by the Mayor and Council.
A copy of the proposed amendments is on file in the City Clerk’s office located at City Hall 134 S. Oak St. and in the Superior Court Clerk’s office located at 625 W. Third St Suite 10 for the purpose of examination and inspection by the public.
